In the United States, more than 40 percent of all food that is produced ends up being discarded. Much of this inedible food was previously sent to landfills or incinerators, but can be recycled into renewable energy. We work with large food and beverage manufacturing waste streams and smaller waste producers from across the food and beverage spectrum to recycle food and beverage waste that cannot be consumed by people or animals and that would have previously ended up in a landfill generating dangerous greenhouse gases. Instead the waste is transported to a local dairy farm where it is combined with farm manure in a sealed tank and generates renewable energy.
