A 20,000-cow dairy produces approximately 760 mmbtu/day of renewable natural gas – the equivalent of 9.25 MW of power.

Manure to renewable energy production via Farm Powered anaerobic digestion effectively addresses the dairy methane emissions challenge with no farm investment required. Vanguard supplies 100 percent of the capital and ongoing operations for the facility.
And, the Farm Powered program complements other renewable energy sources such as solar and wind.

Vanguard’s nationally-renowned partnership with Dominion Energy, and long-term offtake agreements with other national utility and energy companies, ensures a clear market for the renewable natural gas produced at our Farm Powered facilities, without dependency on federal or state subsidies.
Long-standing relationships with Dairy Farmers of America and other farm associations and cooperatives enhance Vanguard’s support of farms nationwide.

Job-specific safety plans, devised during the design phase, are constantly adapted to real time conditions, operations, and behavioral tracking data.
