We are seeking a Corporate Risk Manager for the overall responsibility of the Company’s insurance program. Reporting to the General Counsel, this role will lead the overall insurance compliance program for the Company, including ensuring contract compliance for all new contracts, ensure the Ag Construction and Operations business complies and maintains compliance with partner requirements, and establishing and maintaining a comprehensive insurance compliance program for the Organics Construction and Operations business.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct and evaluate activities regarding Corporate Risk Insurance Programs;
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive insurance compliance system for the Ag and Organics business, including vendor/sub-contractor compliance requirements;
  • Purchase, and maintain general insurance protection for the company, including property, public liability, workers compensation, D&O and related exposures;
  • Negotiate with brokers and carriers to obtain the most favorable premium and coverage and insurance market selection;
  • Oversee the claims management program and review and approve public liability and workers compensation claims settlements;
  • Review bids and contract agreements and recommend changes to minimize and protect the company’s liability assumed by contract (this function is particularly vital during new contract negotiations, acquisitions, divestitures and lease renewals);
  • Review and recommend expanded insurance programs in line with the growth of the business;

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to, and has full working knowledge of, the company safety program. Will have limited oversight responsibility for outside maintenance contractors to ensure that they are working in a safe manner. Communicates with all personnel to stress the importance of a safe work environment. Required to isolate equipment following proper Lock-out Tag-Out procedures.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and supports the plant safety, health, and environmental programs in all activities. Contributes to incident investigations to reduce recurrence of accidents/incidents.
  • Supports and promotes the philosophy of maintaining an accident/incident free workplace.
  • Assist and support outside contractors with maintenance onsite maintenance such as media change-outs, large equipment overhauls, and vacuum removal of solids from digesters.
  • Monitor gas production of anaerobic digesters with a focus on O2 and H2S concentration.
  • Complete daily rounds of plant equipment and capture fluid temps, pressures, oil levels, gas concentrations, process flows. Check equipment for proper operation looking for excessive vibration, fluid leaks and any conditions needing further attention. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Organics Recycling Facility (ORF) Operator performs skilled work that is necessary in operating the day-to-day functions of depackaging food waste.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the depackaging of food waste and products brought into the facility
  • Assist with managing the daily truck loads
  • Communicates with team lead on daily depackaging workflow standards
  • Complete daily rounds of equipment and capture process flows
  • Accurately record all operational parameters and respond to unsatisfactory trends
  • Write work orders on work management software to track repairs and scheduled maintenance
  • Assist in creating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures

Project Development

Vanguard Renewables seeks a Development Associate to support development finance and project management initiatives. Reporting to the Development Manager and VP of Development, the Development Associate will be engaged in tasks ranging from financial analysis on potential and existing development projects to construction and permitting support.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain complex acquisition and development models for all projects
  • Collect and integrate project data and underwriting assumptions, including construction cash flow requirements, operating income and expense projections and financing assumptions for project proformas
  • Maintain project budgets and schedules and report on variances
  • Prepare reports for senior management on development progress and critical decision points
  • Assist in origination, underwriting and due diligence of acquisition and investment transactions
  • Assist in management of the development process and interact with venture partner(s) representatives regarding specific project issues.
